Bonchi Boneiru

Bonchi Boneiru is the first and only coffee roastery on the island of Bonaire, founded in 2020 by Dutch data analyst Nort van Hulten. Motivated by a love for high-quality coffee and the absence of fresh specialty coffee on the island, Nort set out to create something that could contribute to both the local community and the planet.

The roastery works directly with coffee producers — bypassing middlemen — to secure fair prices for farmers and source beans from nearby origins in South and Central America. All coffee is roasted fresh on the island daily, making it significantly fresher and with a smaller carbon footprint than coffee shipped from Europe.
